Missionary Housing & Retreat Centers
This list includes a wide assortment of housing facilities, including guest houses, inns, furlough homes, camp grounds, retreat centers, and mission compounds. Most of the locations listed either provide discounts for people in full-time ministry or provide housing exclusively for ministry workers, a few locations are actually free for people in full-time ministry.
Many locations will clearly state the discounts or offers they have available to ministry workers, while others require a personal inquiry or request. Most locations require advance reservations and many do not accept walk-in guests.

Oasis Renewal Center, Sonoita, AZ – 4-bedroom house, 16 acres of wooded hills, abundant wildlife and phenomenal mountain views. Link Care Services, Fresno, CA – Called the Juniper Tree Retreat. A counseling center, dedicated to the health and growth of the entire person, including psychological, emotional, intellectual, familial, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. They offer candidate assessment, consultation, seminars, re-entry services, and training courses.
Private Listing, Lake Arrowhead, CA -- Christian family has 1,700 square foot home with comfortable sleeping for up to 5 people. (Must be reserved in advance) There are 2 guest bedrooms available all the time and a master bedroom also available during the week. Rate for first person per stay is $25.00 a day, 2nd person is an additional $20 ($45.00 total), 3rd person is an additional $15 ($60 total) and 4th person is an additional $10 ($70 total) and 5th person is an additional $5 ($75.00 total) mid week non-hosted. There is a $100 cleaning and key deposit which is refunded when you leave the place clean and return the key. IBSA Prayer Ministries, Hillsboro, IL -- A place to get away for a few days or up to a week of rest. We also welcome anyone traveling across country who may need a place to overnight it. A peaceful, spacious guest apartment can accommodate a family with up to four children; overflow is available if needed. Full bed, sleep sofa, kids' room with bunk beds, full bath, small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Located in a park where walking, hiking, biking, swimming, and canoeing is available (but please bring your own life vests!). The Larson House, Sheridan, IL – Located on the grounds of Pine Ridge Christian Center near the little village of Norway, IL (70 miles southwest of O’Hare Airport). A fully furnished, five bedroom house with 2-1/2 bathrooms, kitchen, laundry facilities, plus an attached garage. A five passenger vehicle is also available for guests to use if needed (drivers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid US drivers license).
Baan Sabai Lodge, Aurora, IN – Baan Sabai (pronounced: bahn sah-bye) is Thai for "tranquil house". This is the home of Dave and Irene Lewis, veteran missionaries. Their home is open to accommodate singles, couples, or entire families for a time of personal retreat. This 6,400 square foot log house (built to resemble a mountain lodge) can host up to 30 individuals or three families at a time. Each guest suite has its own full bathroom and a special sleeping nook under the eaves (which children often contend for the chance to use). Also includes a grand loft, shared fellowship room, large library, and a studio (for engaging in a variety of arts and crafts projects). Suggested amount is $35 per night per adult, which includes the cost of meals.

Shunem House, Noblesville, IN -- The Shunem House has five guest rooms with private bathrooms, a family suite, and a two-bedroom apartment for longer stays. The house is spacious and provides places for relaxation and quietness apart from the busy lane of life. There are two living rooms, a piano, a pool, theater room, and a sunroom with a pool table and foosball table. Potter’s Bridge Park is a couple miles south of the house. It has a playground for children and nice walking trails along the White River. Wireless internet and free long distance calling are special features. A home-cooked breakfast is prepared each morning. We operate on a donation basis. A suggested amount will be given when guests make a reservation.

This list includes a wide assortment of housing facilities, including guest houses, inns, furlough homes, camp grounds, retreat centers, and mission compounds. This list is for reference only and is by no means a complete list.
While we do our best to keep this listing current and up-to-date, it is possible that some locations may have moved, closed, altered what they offer, or changed their fees or policies regarding their guests and bookings. And while it is our goal to only list locations that are open to anyone in full-time ministry, there may be some locations that restrict their usage to only members of their mission society.
Most of the locations listed either provide discounts for people in full-time ministry or provide housing exclusively for ministry workers, but some locations do not provide any discount and are open to all comers but are still listed because their location and facilities are ideal for missionaries on deputation or furlough. Many locations will clearly state the discounts or offers they have available to ministry workers, while others require a personal inquiry or request. It is left to the initiative of the client to find out what fees or discounts may apply to them, and it is the right of the facility managers to determine what those fees or discounts may be, as well as their right to make changes to what they have to offer or the fees they incur.
Most locations require advance reservations and many do not accept walk-in guests. Some provide food or kitchens, others do not provide either.
